* Marek is thrilled to announce (finally) that Canada's famed Stratford Shakespeare Festival will present the world premiere of Wanderlust in its 2012 season. This musical play focuses on the life and work of Yukon Bard, Robert W. Service ("The Shooting of Dan McGrew", "The Cremation of Sam McGee") with book by Morris Panych, music and orchestrations by Marek Norman. All song lyrics are based on Service's iconic poetry.
Performances begin (at the wonderful Tom Patterson Theatre) in June, 2012 - and continue through September.

* Marek is pleased to announce another commission, this time from The Manitoba Theatre For Young People (MTYP), for himself (as composer/lyricist) in collaboration with playwright, Susan Coyne. The duo will, over the coming year, create a new work for this highly-regarded Winnipeg institution.

* As promised - an update.
The intriguing project, Dancer! (book and lyrics by Jim Betts, music by Marek Norman) is growing by leaps and bounds. Producer, John McKellar (Ginger Cat Productions), has amassed a superb group of theatre artists.
Director, Morris Panych, Choreographer, Stacey Tookey,
Designer, Ken MacDonald - a multitude of actors, dancers and musicians will present a special workshop performance this summer.

* Marek, a proud BC boy (born and raised), will venture west this coming fall. Joining longtime friend and colleague, Artistic Director Daryl Cloran, Marek will oversee all music concerns for WCT's production of
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
